Tinubu reacts to June 12 fall, says it’s a ‘swagger’

In what was seen as a national jinx, President Bola Tinubu has reacted to his falling at the Eagle Square during the June 12, 2024 Democracy Day celebration.

CONVERSEER reports that the whole nation was mocking, supporting, commenting and reacting when Tinubu tripped, stumbled and fell while trying to climb a parade vehicle in Abuja on Wednesday.

However, the President did not let all the reactions from Nigerians pass him by as he reacted to the trending videos of his fall at a dinner.

He referred to the fall as a swagger, adding that social media is confused about whether he was doing buga or doing babaringa.

“Early this morning, I had a swagger and it’s on the social media. They are confused whether I was doing buga or doing babaringa, but it is a day to celebrate democracy while doing dobale for the day. I am a traditional Yoruba boy, I did my dobale,” President Tinubu said.

Meanwhile, former Vice-President and 2023 Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, sympathised with Tinubu over the fall.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Atiku said: “I sincerely sympathise with President Bola Tinubu, @officialABAT, over this unfortunate incident as he was set to review the parade on Democracy Day. I do hope that all is well with him.”
