The Senate of the University of Calabar (UNICAL) has unbundled the Department of Mass Communication into six new programmes.
This was revealed during the 242nd meeting of the Senate of the University on Thursday, 27th June 2024.
Following the Senate meeting, the Department of Mass Communication was unbundled into the following six programmes;
- Advertising
- Broadcasting
- Development Communication
- Journalism and Media Studies
- Public Relations
- Strategic Communication
Converseer earlier reported that 39 programmes were given accreditation by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
35 out of the 39 departments gained full accreditation of which Mass Communication was part.
