An auto crash involving a white minibus (Suzuki Carry 3) has claimed many lives at the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), Ilorin, Kwara State.
Converseer gathered that the incident happened on Thursday afternoon, with many being injured as well.
According to a reliable source, the minibus plummeted into a side pavement due to overloading, killing scores of students, and leaving several others injured.
“The minibus was overloaded and on speed when the driver lost control and hit the roadside pavement. They are mainly students in the vehicle, many of which sustained major injuries while a few died on the spot,” the source said.
“The bus carried 11 passengers instead of 6 and yet, we are still paying N350 per person for school shuttle,” the source added.

Our Reporter further gathered that there have been conflicting figures on the number of casualties.
However, at the time of filing this report, the University management has arranged for the removal of the vehicle as the injured are being rushed to the hospital.
