The Management of the University of Cross River State (UNICROSS) has notified all staff and students of the University of the closure of academic activities ahead of the 1st of August 2024 nationwide protest.
This was disclosed in a circular No. 433 signed by the Management on Friday, 26th July 2024, with reference number: UNICROSS/REG/GC/VOL.1/32/433.
According to the circular, the closure of the institution is for two weeks – from 30th July 2024 to 12th August 2024.

“In view of the planned nationwide protest being organised by some Civil Society Organisations and others in the country effective August 01, 2024, and in order to ensure the safety of the lives of our Students, the Management of the University has decided to give a break of two (2) weeks to the students with effect from Tuesday 30th July, 2024.
“Consequently, all lectures, examinations, tests and other academic activities will be suspended as from that date.
“Students are advised to vacate their halls of residence immediately this break takes effect.
“Normal academic activities will resume on Monday, August 12th 2024,” the circular read.
