A soldier and his brother from Cross River State have been reported missing in the past one and a half weeks.

The two brothers, Captain William Ikpan Abeng (retd) and younger Edom Ikpan Abeng (Man of God), who hail from Obubra Local Government Area of the state, were reported missing on 7th September 2024.

Captain William, age 55, and his younger brother Edom, age 45, were both said to have travelled on a private mini-bus to Onitsha, Anambra State to buy some items on 7th September.

On their return the following day, the family of the duo lost contact when they arrived at Abumeghe in Ebonyi State.

“The journey back which was on the 8th of September, being Sunday morning, was successful until the last conversation he had with his wife around Abumeghe, a border community between Ebonyi State and Abi in Cross River State.

“Sadly, almost over a week now, their phone numbers are switched off and the whereabout of these two brothers is unknown.

“We call on relevant security agencies to help unravelled the root cause of their sudden disappearance,” a source said via a WhatsApp message forwarded to CONVERSEER on Wednesday.

CONVERSEER reports that that this is the second case of missing person from the state in less than two weeks.

The other victim was Miss Favour Joseph Ekuta, age 15, who was reported missing on 15th September after last seen around UNICROSS Staff Quarters, Calabar.

Miss Ekuta was later seen on 17th September, two days later.
