The Office of the First Lady of Cross River State located at Moore Road in Calabar has worn a new look and looking like a Paradise, courtesy of Governor Bassey Otu.
When Otu assumed office on the 29th of May 2023, almost everything in the state was in deplorable state, including the Governor’s Office, Lodge and that of the Wife of the Governor, Rev. Eyoanwan Otu.
As expected, the Governor didn’t waste time – he started with the Government House, and then the streets and government establishments.
Inspecting the office Thursday, Mr Raphael Adoga Morphy, Special Adviser to the Governor on Project/Programmes Monitoring and Evaluation (PPME), said the ongoing reform is just an iceberg from the many projects that are going to be executed by the current administration.
Morphy, who is overseeing the renovation of the First Lady’s Office, said Governor Otu has promised to complete all the state’s projects from the past administration and also give the state a facelift that would make both local and foreign investors stay and do business.
A tour of the First Lady’s Office building by our Report shows that a lot has been done – from the interior to the exterior as it is now wearing an aesthetic look it never wore before.
Apart from the Office of the Wife of the Governor, some of the buildings and offices undergoing remodelling and upgrading include the Governor’s Office, State Library, Presidential Lodge, Governor and Deputy Governor’s Lodges, Local Government Service Commission, Governor’s Lodge (GRA Ogoja), and several others.
