Birnin Kebbi, Feb. 2, 2023 (NAN) Alhaji Babale Umar-Yauri, Secretary to Kebbi State Government (SSG), on Thursday says Kebbi is the hub of All Progressives Congress (APC) and it still remains a party to beat in the state and the nation at large.
He made the disclosure while interacting with Journalists shortly after a meeting with Local Government Council Chairmen across the state held at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the meeting which aimed at re-strategising towards 2023 polls was presided over by Gov. Atiku Bagudu and attended by both incumbent and ex council chairmen in the state.
“I can assure you that we are on the right track, highly hopeful because Kebbi is the hub of APC, it is still one party loved by majority of people across the state and the electorate are with us, the party will emerge victorious at all levels,” he assured.
According to the SSG, the present administration at both federal and state levels executed different developmental projects that have direct bearing on the lives of the common man.
He encouraged the electorate who were yet to collect their PVCs to collect it, insisting that it was the only weapon for every Nigerian to exercise his/her franchise.
Umar-Yauri observed that no matter the number of teeming supports a party gathered, it would amount to nothing if such supporters had no PVCs.
Speaking on the meeting, the SSG said: “It has been always a regular thing for government to look into what is happening at the local government level.
“In the meeting, some of the projects executed by the state government and international organisations were assessed and we have looked into areas where there are problems,” he noted.
Umar-Yauri said the meeting deliberated and identified areas of problems and adopted measures on how to solve such challenges.
“This is because the local government are closer to the people, so far so good we are pleased with the development considering the number of people that benefited across the state,” the SSG said. (NAN)
