Former Secretary of EFCC, Dr George Abang Ekpungu and his dear wife, Mrs Aggie Abang Ekpungu, have both been conferred with traditional titles in Kakwagom community in Boki Local Government Area of Cross River State.
Dr Ekpungu was conferred with the traditional title of “Otu Ochuab 1 of Kakwagom” (King of Help) and his dear wife was honoured with the traditional title of “Onyinyi Budgere of Kakwagom” (Woman of Gentility).
The former scribe of the anti-graft agency and his wife were honoured for their immense contributions towards the growth and development of Kakwagom community, peace-building initiatives, human capital development, community projects among others.

The colourful event attracted family members, religious/traditional rulers, security personnel, politicians, businessmen among others.
In his acceptance speech, Ekpungu, who also holds the National Honour of MFR, thanked the community for the honour done to him and his dear wife, thereby pledging to continue with his good works towards uplifting the status of the community.
