APC Legacy Group lauds endorsement of Chief Felix Idem as Political Leader in Calabar Municipality

By Our Reporter

The All Progressives Congress, APC Legacy Group in Calabar Municipality has congratulated the Cross River Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Chief Felix Idem on his endorsement/adoption as the Political Leader in Calabar Municipality.

According to the group, Idem’s endorsement is the right thing to do at this particular point in time when the party is faced with challenges and anti-party activities.

The group also praised the critical stakeholders and leaders of the APC in Calabar Municipality for unanimously endorsing Chief Idem as the political leader in a meeting that had many in attendance.

Speaking after their general meeting in Calabar on Tuesday, the coordinator of the group, Hon. Ekpenyong Inang urged Chief Idem to unite the party through his unquestionable leadership prowess.

Inang also tasked Idem to thank the critical stakeholders and leaders of APC in Calabar Municipality for rising to the occasion by not allowing political jobbers and miscreants to run over the party as a children’s venture.

The APC Legacy Group Coordinator warned those using the name of the organisation to cause confusion to steer clear or have themselves to blame. He wondered where they got fake names to represent the group in fake and non-existent news going viral.

The group also wondered why the State Chairman of the party, Barr. Alphonsus Eba has refused to act on the vote of NO confidence passed on Chief Emmanuel Mbora and Chief Oku Ita, former Chapter Chairman and Chapter Publicity Secretary by 20 out of the 27 chapter excos as directed in the APC Constitution Article 21.

On his part, Hon. Prince Ekpenyong Edide frowned at the perpetrators of the unnecessary impasse in the party, lamenting that “As foundation members and leaders of the party, this infighting is so strange to us and must be checkmated as urgent as possible by the state leadership of the party and the State Governor.”

APC Legacy Group is made up of the defunct parties that formed the current APC – Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, All Nigerian People’s Party, ANPP, Congress for Progressive Change, CPC and a faction of APGA & DPP.
