APC Chairman buries father in Cross River

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Cross River, Barr. Alphonsus Eba Ogar has buried his father, Pa Emmanuel Eba Ogar amid condolences.

Pa Ogar who passed away on 21 December 2023 was buried on Wednesday 10 January 2024 at Imaje, Yala Local Government Area of the state.

Born on 5t June 1945, the late septuagenarian patriarch remained a man of peace and an esteemed community leader until his passing.

At the funeral mass at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Imaje, immediate past Deputy Governor of Cross River, Prof. Ivara Esu while eulogising Pa Ogar, said the deceased was a devout Christian who entrusted the guidance of his life to God during his time on earth.

Esu emphasised Pa Ogar’s profound care for the well-being of his children while extending his heartfelt condolences to the Barr. Ogar and the entire family, as well as the people of Imaje. He also prayed for Pa Ogar’s soul to rest in peace, and for everyone to find the strength to cope with this irreparable loss.

The funeral drew dignitaries and political leaders from within and outside the State. Notable attendees included Senator Eteng Jones Williams, representing Cross River Central Senatorial District, Hon. Emmanuel Ironbar, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Rt. Hon. Hilary Bisong, Member representing Boki II State Constituency and Chief Whip of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Senator Stephen Odey, former Senator representing Cross River Northern Senatorial District and Commissioner for Education, as well as former and current members of the State Executive Council, Council Chairmen, and National/State Assembly Members.

Also in attendance were Traditional and Religious leaders, the State Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress, Chapter Chairmen and their executives, Ward Chairmen, and various high-ranking government officials.

The funeral was marked by fanfare, heartfelt tributes, and testimonies celebrating a life well lived.
