Access Bank CEO Herbert Wigwe’s last message before his death

Access Bank CEO, Herbert Wigwe who died in a helicopter crash in California near the Nevada border, United States of America, on Saturday (Friday local US time), left behind a heartfelt message.

Wigwe, CONVERSEER learned was said to have died in the crash with his wife and son.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Access Holdings CEO, tweeted about life, three weeks before his tragic death.

“Today and always, let us remember that life is a precious gift – a chance to breathe, feel, love, experience and connect.

“Let’s honor this gift by living with purpose, kindness, and gratitude, making every moment count.
Let us number our days,” the post on 19 Jan. 2024 read.

Meanwhile, his most recent post (7 Feb. 2024), said:

“We recognize and appreciate the profound influence of African women as they pave the way towards crafting a brighter future for every one of us.

“Sharing amazing moments with the Chief Operating Officer, HOW Foundation, Yvonne Victor-Olomu.”

Meanwhile, Access Bank Plc, while confirming the death of Wigwe, said it lacks “specific information” about the death of the Group’s Chief Executive Officer, CEO.

The bank in a tweet on Sunday morning said, “We have received numerous inquiries concerning an airplane crash in the USA.

“Presently, we lack specific information; however, we are actively collaborating with US authorities who will furnish updates.

“Your understanding and support are valued, and we commit to keeping you informed promptly as we receive updates on the situation.”
