A woman identified as Rita Okang has been allegedly beaten by her husband, Kevin Okang – an act which they say has continued for a long time in Cross River State.

According to a reliable source, the height of the gender-based violence happened on Sunday, 18 March 2024, when Mr Okang allegedly beat his wife in front of their children in Calabar.

The source attributed Mr Okang’s second wife as the major reason behind the battering of his first wife.

Mr Kevin who hails from Akamkpa Local Government Area married Rita who hails from Etung Local Government Area a long time ago and they’ve had children and staying in Calabar.

The source said Mr Okang is currently living in Akamkpa with his second wife and does visit Calabar only to allegedly beat his wife and children.

The source in a WhatsApp message on Monday said, “Kevin Okang has subjected his wife, Rita to daily different degrees of high level of beatings.”

Adding, “Yesterday (Sunday) was not left as Kevin left Akamkpa where he is living with his second woman to Calabar to beat the life out of Rita, in front of their kids who were helpless.

“He always threatened to deal with them and their mother, saying that ‘nothing will happen’.”

CONVERSEER is yet to get the reactions from Mr Okang as efforts are on the corner to connect with him.
