The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Calabar (UNICAL), Professor Florence Obi, has appointed Dr Lawrence Ekwok as the new Head of the Department of Mass Communication.
In a letter conveying the appointment to Dr Ekwok, former Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship Nigeria (PFN), Cross River State, Prof. Obi urged him to continue the laudable Programmes of the department.

The newly appointed HOD comes in with a wealth of experience in both journalism practice and administration having managed the affairs of several reputable bodies.
Lawrence Ekwok has also been pivotal to the start of and growth of the fledgling Department of Mass Communication, University of Calabar which runs Post Graduate Programmes in addition to undergraduate Programmes.
