Sen. Aishatu Binani, Adamawa gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed confidence of winning the election.
Binani who is the only female candidate stated this shortly after casting her vote at Kofar Mahmudu Ribadu polling unit 006 in Yola-North LGA on Saturday.
She described the election as peaceful and orderly.
Binani said: “I am confident on both the electorate and the officials of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), because this is not the first time they are conducting elections.
“We just concluded Presidential and National Assembly elections and they was peaceful and credible elections.”
Binani appreciated the support of President Muhammadu Buhari and people in the state .
“I feel great and we are pushing and the men are giving us the much support that is expected from them.
“And as far as election is concerned, actually women constitute a larger position of voters whenever it comes to election.
“If they come out and cast vote in my favour, certainly we will be there”, she said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that as at the time of filing the report the exercise was peaceful.
In all the poling units visited, security personnel were deployed as well as on some of the major roads. (NAN)
