Hilda Baci (full name Hilda Bassey Effiong), a chef from Nigeria, has beaten the record for “longest cooking time” by an individual.
Hilda, 27, broke the record after she defeated Indian chef Lata Tandon, who in 2019 set a new “Guinness World Record” by cooking continuously for 87 hours and 45 minutes.
At 7:45 a.m. on Monday, May 15, Hilda smashed the record.
The chef from Akwa Ibom State began cooking on May 11 and plans to work for 96 hours to break the previous record.
Numerous Nigerians, including politicians and celebrities, have shown support for the culinary initiative that she called “Cook-a-thon.”
