Asuquo Ekpenyong Jnr., former Commissioner for Finance has won the 2023 Cross River State Southern Senatorial District election.
Suki as he’s popularly called won the Saturday, February 25, 2023 National Assembly election with 57,870 votes.
His closest rival, Daniel Asuquo (Dansuki) of the Labour Party (LP) polled 50,760 votes to come second while Ekpo Okon of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) scored 41,116 votes to emerge third.
Asuquo Ekpenyong Jnr. will take over from Sen. Gershom Bassey who aspired for the Cross River State Governorship election under the PDP.
He will represent his people in the Red Chambers of the National Assembly for the next 4 years.
