Woman takes Couple to court for calling her a prostitute

A 28-year-old auto mechanic, Ibukunola Oladapo, who allegedly obtained the sum of N138, 000 from his customer under guise of repairing his car, was on Wednesday brought before an Ejigbo Magistrates’ Court, Lagos.

The defendant whose residential address was not provided, is standing trial on one count charge of stealing.

The prosecutor, ASP Benedict Aigbokhan, told the court that the defendant and others at large, committed the offence sometime in September, at Ajesam, Igando, Lagos.

According to the prosecutor, the defendant fraudulently obtained the sum of N138,000 from the complainant, Mr Anthony Ennereuzor, under the pretext of repairing his car for him but converted the money to his personal use.

He said that the defendant who did not repair the car, refused to return the money to the complainant.

Aigbokhan said that the offence contravened Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Magistrate, Miss K.A. Ariyo, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50, 000 with two sureties in like sum.

Ariyo ordered that the sureties must be gainfully employed and show evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State Government.

She also ordered that one of the sureties must be a blood relative to the defendant and adjourned the case until Jan. 24, for mention. (NAN)
