A BCCI office bearer will now receive a daily allowance of $1000 while travelling abroad and would fly first-class.
The Apex Council meeting on Sunday was where the rise in allowances given to BCCI office bearers was tabled; however, it won’t take effect until October 2022.
After more than seven years, the per diem (daily allowance) has been updated. The world’s richest board’s officer bearers formerly received $750 per day while travelling abroad.
According to the BCCI document acquired by PTI, the office bearers, including the president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, and joint-secretary, will also be entitled to Rs 40,000 per day for meetings within India and business class flights.
They will receive a daily salary of Rs 30,000 for “work travel.” They can reserve a suite room for both domestic and international travel.
The perks of the IPL chairman have also been included in the category of office holders.
Members of the BCCI Apex Council, which includes two Indian Cricketers’ Association representatives, would receive Rs 40,000 per day for their quarterly meetings and $500 for international travel. However, those that travel abroad for work are mostly office officials.

The board has also changed the reimbursement rates for its state unit members, who would now receive Rs 30,000 for domestic travel and $400 for international travel.
The three members of the Cricket Advisory Committee, which chooses the men’s and women’s national teams’ head coaches, will receive Rs 3.5 lakh apiece in meeting compensation. Although they are unlikely to travel abroad, each of them is entitled to $400 a day for such expenses.
A BCCI office bearer’s position is an honorary one, it should be highlighted. Its highly compensated workers, including the CEO, will receive a daily stipend of $650 while travelling abroad and Rs 15,000 while inside of India.
