Broadcaster Bob Resigns From FAD FM Calabar After 5 Years

CALABAR – One of the finest broadcaster and journalist, Phidelis Ubana, popularly known on Radio as ‘Bob’ or ‘Lord Bob’, has resigned from FAD 93.1 FM Calabar.

Converseer reports that Bob resigned on Friday, February 14, 2025, after serving five years in the radio station.

Bob, who who is yet to state the reason(s) for his resignation, took to social media announced that he has quitted his job with FAD.

On his Facebook page, he wrote thus:

“FIVE YEARS OF MEMORIES; MY RESIGNATION FROM FAD93.1FM CALABAR

Today, I bid farewell to FADFM’s sacred space.
Five fantastic years of memories, a treasured sacred place,
My heart swells with emotion, a mix of PAIN and JOY
As I lay down my FADFM microphone and walk away from the FADFM family, I look only to God.

For the fear of unknown paths, of uncharted seas,
Creeps in like a thief, and steals my ease..
What lies ahead? Will I find my way?
Or will I falter, lost in a world of disarray?

Yet, amidst the fear, a glimmer of hope appears,
A chance to rediscover and reinvent myself, to dry my TEARS,
To find a new sense of PURPOSE, a new PASSION to ignite,
To soar on eagle’s wings and leave the darkness of night.

I’ll miss the laughter, the camaraderie, the fun,
The PEOPLE’S OPINION, I’ll miss HARDLINES..
I’ll miss the Fadarians, each and every one,
A family that’s been mine, beneath the FADFM sun..

But as I look back, I realize I almost lost my way.
Doubts crept in and I questioned my abilities each day.
I wondered if I was good enough, if I had what it takes..
In the midst of the storm, I found my inner strength.
I learned to trust myself, believe in my unique voice, to rise above the noise and find my own joyful choice.

As I close this chapter, and turn the page,
I know that I’ll carry, the lessons I’ve learned,
the LOVE, the LAUGHTER, The HATE and the memories we’ve made will stay with me forever, a treasure I’ll forever cherish.

So I’ll take a deep breath, and let go of the past,
Embracing the uncertainty, and the future that will last,
With hope in my heart, and a spirit that’s free,
I’ll walk into the sunrise, and find my destiny.

I’m open to new and exciting opportunities,
A new chapter unfolds with possibilities.
I’m ready to take on new challenges, to grow and to thrive.
And though I’ll miss FADFM, I know that my voice will never quench.

Farewell, dear FADFM,
Farewell, dear friends,
Farewell dear listeners,
May our paths cross again, until the very end.
I’ll carry you in my heart, and cherish every memory,
As I embark on this new journey, wild and free.

I AM LORD BOB, THE TOWN CRIER…”
