The general overseer of Christ Evangelical and Life Intervention Ministry, Sabo Tasha Kaduna, Pastor Yohanna Buru, has led a delegation of some Christians to Sheik Ahmed Gumi’s home to condole him over the death of his mother.
The renowned Islamic scholar mother died yesterday at a hospital in Abuja after a brief illness.
Buru said: “we heard about the death of the mother of renowned Kaduna-based Islamic scholar and cleric, Sheik Dr Ahmad Gumi, through the media and that is why we visited him this afternoon to condole with him and the whole family.”
He said prayed the Almighty God to grant the soul of the deceased eternal rest and make Aljannah Firdaus her abode.
Also at the condolence visit, Buru met with other top Nigerian Islamic scholars including Sheik Bala Lau, Sheik Yusuf Rigachikum, Sheik Halliru Maraya, and Sheik Mohammed Auwal.
Gumi thanked Buru and his delegation for the visit, adding that such visit would encourage inter-religious cooperation and engender brotherhood among residents.
Gumi, who announced the passing of his mother on his Facebook handle, said her death occurred on Sunday evening at about 5.30 pm.(NAN)
