Court remands 2 motorcyclists for alleged breach of trust, cheating

A Karu Upper Area Court, Abuja on Tuesday remanded two motorcyclists, Abdulhamid Dan-baba and Haruna Shaibu for alleged criminal breach of trust and cheating.

The Judge, Ishaq Hassan ordered the remand of the defendants until April 11 to determine their sentencing.

The defendants, who were of same address had pleaded guilty to the charges of criminal conspiracy, criminal breach of trust and cheating but begged for mercy.

The Prosecution counsel, Olarewaju Osho told the court that Mr Bello Umar of Nyanya, Abuja reported the matter at the Nyanya Police Station on March 3.

“The complainant had alleged that on Jan. 27, he entrusted his motorcycle, valued N495, 000 to Ali in agreement to be remitting N11, 000 weekly to him.

“However, on Jan. 27, the complainant received information that Ali had transferred the said motorcycle to the defendants without his consent.

“When the complainant requested for the motorcycle, the defendants could not give satisfactory account of the motorcycle,” Osho told the court.

The offence contravened sections 97, 312 and 323 of the Penal Code (NAN)
