A Kano Shari’a Court on Monday ordered that a 24-year-old woman, Amina Isma’il, be remanded for alleged breach of trust.
The police charged Isma’il, who lives at Hotoron Fulani Quarters, Kano, with two counts of criminal breach of trust and cheating.
The Judge, Malam Ismai’l Muhammad-Ahmed, who gave the order, adjourned the matter until Nov. 28 for summary trial.
Earlier, the prosecution counsel, Insp Abdullahi Wada, told the court that Baba Habu of Hotoron Fulani Quarters, Kano, reported the matter at the Hotoro Police Station, Kano, on Nov. 11.
Wada said that the complainant gave Isma’il N130,000 to start a point of sale (POS) business, but the defendant converted the money to her personal use.
According to the prosecutor, the offence contravenes Sections 202, 206 and 322 of the Penal Code. (NAN)
