Cross River Dep. Gov. Engages Northern Senatorial District Stakeholders and Traditional Rulers in Ogoja

Ogoja, Cross River – The Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, has called on political and traditional leaders to rally behind the administration of Governor Bassey Otu, which is tirelessly working to improve the socioeconomic status of the Northern Senatorial District and the State at large.

Rt. Hon. Odey made this appeal during a meeting with critical stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and traditional rulers from the Northern Senatorial District, held at The Landmark Hotel, Ogoja, on Saturday and Sunday.

While stressing the importance of unity and collaboration, the Deputy Governor urged stakeholders to set aside their differences and embrace one another to build a progressive and united Northern senatorial district, he noted that a harmonious approach would help overcome challenges and promote development in line with Governor Otu’s “People First” mantra.

Several speakers at the meeting lauded Governor Otu’s commitment to inclusive governance and the implementation of impactful programmes and projects that span the three senatorial districts.

They pledged their unwavering support for his administration while calling for the implementation of more projects in the areas of primary healthcare, roads and public power supply in rural areas.

Among dignitaries who graced the meeting convened by the Deputy Governor were the Deputy Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Hon. Sylvester Agabi, APC State Chairman, Alphonsus Eba, Esq., members of the House of Assembly from the district, Council Chairmen and their Vice, serving and former members of the Executive Council, and paramount rulers of Yala, Ogoja, Bekwarra, Obudu, and Obanliku Local Government Areas.

Other participants included High Chief Higgins Peters, Hon. Chief Martin Orim, Sir Peter Ojie, and Ntufam Fidelis Ugbo among several others.
