CRSG commissions CTRA office in Ogoja

OGOJA (CONVERSEER) – The Cross River State Government (CRSG) has commissioned the Commercial Transportation Regulatory Agency (CTRA) office in Ogoja Local Government Area of the state.

The office was commissioned on 7th August 2025 by Hon. Efa Nyong, Chairman of CTRA, to regulate the transport system in the Northern Senatorial District of the State.

The new CTRA office which is located at 16 Yala Street in Igoli, Ogoja, was facilitated by Dr Godwin Agbor, a critical stakeholder in the transport industry.

Dr Agbor, who is the Medical Director of Omega Clinic and Maternity, Okundi, and the Chairman of the Obudu Health Anti-Quackery Committee, eulogised Governor Bassey Otu’s road development in the state.

He added, “The increase in IGR (Internally Generated Revenue) and his efforts to see that the state reclaim the loss of 76 oil wells to our sister state, Akwa Ibom State, have shown clearly that His Excellency is working for the people.”

Agbor said the establishment of CTRA in Ogoja will not only regulate transport activities but will also help in curbing high transport costs in the northern part of the state.

Earlier, a stakeholders’ meeting was held at the Ogoja Council Hall to address key issues in the transport industry in the state.

The CTRA Chairman disclosed several efforts put in place by Governor Otu in addressing infrastructural development across the state.

Present at the commissioning were Elder Archibong Ironbar, elder brother to the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Emmanuel Ironbar; Pastor Akpama Ekwe, Director of Administration, CTRA; Peter Ogar, a Consultant; representatives of the Chairmen of Obudu, Ogoja and Yala LGAs.

Others were captains of industry, managers of private parks, and staff of agencies, among others.
