As at 9.30 a.m at the INEC Collation Centre in Gosa Primary School, Abuja Airport Road, party agents and corps members are yet to be conveyed to their polling units.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that INEC officials were seen making frantic efforts to get vehicles to convey corps members and other officials engaged for the exercise to their polling units.
Most of the corps members told NAN that they slept at the centre to meet up with the time.
Some voters around Lugbe, a satellite town in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), however, complained of not seeing their names on the voters’ list.
They alleged that the commission had changed their polling units without communicating the movement to them.
Some of them who spoke to NAN said that there were a lot of mix-up in the process.
Mrs Bose Alao, a voter, said she had gone to about five polling units around the Lugbe area and could not find her name.
“I have gone to the polling booth at the Lugbe Market, LEA Primary School, Lugbe Secondary School, and Tescon Hotel, but could not find my name.
”In 2019 election, this was where I voted. If INEC is changing our voting centre, they should have informed us ahead of today,” she said.
Another voter, Mr Chibuike Okafor, said that he was tired of the whole situation following the mix-up in the process.
Mr Tony Onoja, another vote, said he had gone to several polling units looking for his name to no avail and was already exhausted.
“I voted at Lugbe Primary School before now; they said that I should go to Lugbe across.”
Traders, had however, taken advantage of the large turnout at most polling centres visited in Gosa, Surka, Chika and Tutunwada, to make brisk business.
Some European Union (EU) and local election observers were also seen monitoring situations at polling units visited.
Security personnel were stationed to forestall possible breakdown of law and order.
Officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) were also sported going round polling units on airport road to check possible vote buying. (NAN)
