On Monday, Egyptians were escaping war-torn Sudan as violence between two opposing generals continued in the continent’s third-largest nation.
Coaches transporting refugees poured through the Argeen border crossing between Egypt and Sudan.
Hundreds of diplomats and other citizens from other countries have also been airlifted from Sudan to safety.
Fighting between the powerful paramilitary group known as the Rapid Support Forces, or RSF, led by General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, and the Sudanese armed forces under the command of General Abdul Fattah al-Burhan has resulted in over 420 deaths, including 264 civilians, and over 3,700 injuries.

Mona Othman, a Sudanese national said: “There is heavy shelling, there is no water, no electricity, it is an unstable situation.
“Jets are over us all the time, over the capital, we never expected something like this at all even in dreams, especially in Khartoum. This is something I can’t describe, it is so difficult”.
Egypt’s military evacuated 177 soldiers last week. The foreign ministry reported 436 individuals had departed via land on Sunday. According to estimates, Sudan is home to around 10,000 Egyptians.
