The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC), Yobe Command, has deployed 762 personnel to provide security and ensure a hitch-free Eid-el-Fitr celebration in the state.
A statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, ASC Bala Garba, on Wednesday in Damaturu, quoted the NSCDC Commandant , Mr Sa’idu Aliyu as saying security will be beefed up at all Eid grounds in the 17 local government areas of the state.
Aliyu said that officers and men would be deployed to prayer grounds and recreation venues prior to the Sallah day and throughout the period, to prevent any unwholesome activity.
The commandant urged the general public to give prompt and credible information of suspicious persons or movements to the security agencies.
He reiterated the command’s commitment to collaborate with other sister security agencies and wished Muslims peaceful Sallah celebration. (NAN)
