A policy expert, Mr Opeyemi Agbaje, has urged the President-elect Bola Tinubu to focus on security and the economy when he assumes office.Agbaje made the call while delivering a paper during a media event organised by First City Monument Bank (FCMB) in Abuja.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the paper is titled, “Crime and Insecurity: Understanding Nigeria’s Socio-Economic Crisis.”
He said that available data indicated that Nigeria was battling with an economic crisis, and thus, needed a capable leadership to combat.
Agbaje, who is the chairman, RTC Advisory Services Ltd., stated that as long as there is a dysfunctional economy, crime rate would continue to increase.
The guest lecturer added that to address the current economic quagmire, a mix of market and social policy was needed to move the country forward.
”If the security challenges are not tackled, they will have cascading effects on socio-economic development of the nation.
”The subsisting security architecture is potent and only need the political will to drive the entire process,” he said
In his welcome address, the Vice President, Corporate Affairs of FCMB, Mr Diran Olojo said that an informed media would aid nation’s growth and better the society.
He charged reporters on responsible journalism for good of the citizenry and image of their brands.(NAN)
