Historic Takeover: Federal Polytechnic Ugep Absorbs Institute of Technology and Management (CR-ITM)

Ugep, Cross River State – In a groundbreaking development, the Federal Polytechnic Ugep (FPU) has officially taken over the Institute of Technology and Management (CR-ITM), Ugep, with all its academic programmes and facilities.

This strategic takeover is poised to revolutionise the educational landscape in Ugep and its environs, providing students with an expanded range of academic opportunities and state-of-the-art facilities.

The takeover, which was formalised in a ceremony attended by top officials from both institutions, marks a significant milestone in the Federal Polytechnic Ugep’s quest to become a premier tertiary institution in Nigeria.

With this development, the Institute of Technology and Management (CR-ITM), Ugep, will now operate under the umbrella of the Federal Polytechnic Ugep, with all its academic programmes, staff, and facilities being fully integrated into the polytechnic.

This takeover is expected to have a positive impact on the educational sector in Ugep and beyond, providing students with access to a wider range of academic programmes, cutting-edge facilities, and a more diverse and experienced faculty.

“We are pleased to announce that the Federal Polytechnic Ugep has officially taken over the Institute of Technology and Management (CR-ITM), Ugep, with all its academic programmes and facilities.

“This strategic development is aimed at enhancing educational opportunities, fostering innovation and ensuring the delivery of world-class technical and management training to all students. This will also enhance academic excellence, expand programme offerings, and provide greater opportunities for students and staff,” the statement by the management read.

  • ND Computer science
  • ND Computer engineering
  • ND Statistics
  • ND Business administration
  • ND Public Administration
  • ND Accounting
  • ND Hospitality and Tourism
  • HND Computer Science

Interested candidates who did not select the Institution as their first choice in the 2024/2025 UTME can apply online via the jamb portal to the Federal Polytechnic Ugep as their first choice on or before 31st January 2025.

Such candidates must have met the Minimum Admission Requirements of five O’Level Credit including English Language and Mathematics in not more than two sittings.

In addition, such candidates are to ensure that their O/Level results are uploaded on the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) on or before 31st January 2025 for screening.

As the Federal Polytechnic Ugep continues to expand its academic offerings and improve its facilities, it is clear that this institution is committed to providing students with a world-class education that prepares them for success in their chosen careers.
