The University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) was the first Sino-foreign university to open its doors in China. Established in 2004, with the full approval of the Chinese Ministry of Education, the institution is run by the University of Nottingham in partnership with Zhejiang Wanli Education Group, a key player in the education sector in China.
The university offers various scholarships for international students which aim to reward excellence and promote diversity among the student body. Once enrolled, current students are eligible for additional merit and/or performance-based scholarships and awards which covers approximately 32.5% of the entire student body.
Currently, six (6) scholarships are available at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC).

Please note that students are eligible to receive one entry-based Nottingham scholarship award and one progression-based award during their academic study at UNNC. Should students be considered for two awards, the highest award will be granted by default.
(1). Nottingham Global Full Scholarship
Value of the award
- Nottingham Global Full scholarship is worth 110,000 RMB per student, equivalent of 100% toward the first year of undergraduate tuition fees.
- This scholarship is an entrance scholarship only. The fees will be waived from students’ first year’s tuition fees or will be refunded to students if the full tuition fee is already paid.
Eligibility
- You must be an overseas applicant who has submitted the application.
- Merit-based selection based on outstanding academic achievement having achieved the minimum requirements of AAA in A-level; IB 36 points or equivalent for Qualifying year entry; or AAAAA in iGCSE or equivalent for Primary year entry, as determined at the time of admission.
How to apply
A separate application for the Nottingham Global Full Scholarship is required. In order to complete the Nottingham Global Full Scholarship application, a completed scholarship application form needs submitting via online application system by the designated deadline (for early applicants, please attach the form in the ‘other documents’ under section 6 in the system). In addition, due to the nature of competition, applicants will be automatically considered for the next eligible scholarships available should they miss the first round of selection until the quota is filled.

(2). Nottingham Global Half Scholarship
Value of the award
- Nottingham Global Half scholarships is worth 55,000 RMB per student, equivalent of 50% toward the first year of undergraduate tuition fee.
- This scholarship is an entrance scholarship only. The fees will be waived from students’ first year’s tuition fee or will be refunded to students if the full tuition fee is paid.
Eligibility
- You must be an overseas applicant who has submitted the application.
- Merit-based selection based on outstanding academic achievement having achieved the minimum requirements of AAB in A-level; IB 34 points or equivalent for Qualifying year entry; or AAAAB in iGCSE or equivalent for Primary year entry, as determined at the time of admission.

(3). Nottingham Global A Quarter Scholarship
Value of the award
- Nottingham Global A Quarter Scholarship is worth 27,500 RMB per student, equivalent of 25% toward the first year of undergraduate tuition fee.
- This scholarship is an entrance scholarship only. The fees will be waived from students’ first year’s tuition fee or will be refunded to students if the full tuition fee is paid.
Eligibility
- You must be an overseas applicant who has submitted the application.
- Merit-based selection based on outstanding academic achievement having achieved the minimum requirements of ABB in A-level; IB 32 points or equivalent for Qualifying year entry; or AAABB in iGCSE or equivalent for Primary year entry, as determined at the time of admission.
How to apply
A separate application for the Nottingham Global A Quarter Scholarship is required. In order to complete the application, a completed scholarship application form needs to be submitted via the online application system by the designated deadline (for early applicants, please attach the form in the ‘other documents’ under section 6 in the system). (4). Zhejiang/Ningbo Government Scholarship
Value of the award
- 20,000 RMB for undergraduate students
Students who would like to apply for this scholarship will need to prepare the following documents and submit in your online application system in section 6 under “other documents” area.

(5). Central and Eastern European Countries Scholarships
20,000 RMB for full-time undergraduate students
Students from Central and Eastern European Countries will be directly awarded CEEC Scholarship each year. The countries include Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia.
(6) Family Scholarship
A 10% fee reduction is awarded to the children, brothers, sisters, husbands or wives of students who are currently registered on award-bearing full-time courses at the University of Nottingham Ningbo or who have already successfully completed award-bearing courses.
No application is required for this scholarship. However, students are required to submit official documents (Birth Certificate) to prove their relationship with the family member.
