President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated former Chief of Naval Staff, retired Rear Admiral Suleiman Saidu, as he turns 81 years.
In a congratulatory message by his media aide, Malam Garba Shehu, on Thursday in Abuja, Buhari rejoiced with the former Rivers governor, who dedicated his active years in serving the nation.
The president noted the intellectual depth the retired military officer brought into training and operations, being on the frontline in fighting for the unity of the country during the civil war.
Buhari equally acknowledged the historical positions Saidu held as Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Naval Command, Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command and Captain of NNS Aradu.
The former Naval officer later took over Command of the Aradu, and reached the peak of his career as Chief of Naval Staff in 1993.
The president prayed for the wellbeing of the retired military officer and his family. (NAN)
