Jarigbe Agom of PDP reelected Senator of Cross River North

Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been reelected as the Senator representing Cross River Northern Senatorial District in the 2023 general election.

Jarigbe Agom was declared the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the Saturday, February 25, 2023 National Assembly election on Monday morning after polling the highest number of votes.

Senator Jarigbe Agom of the PDP scored a total of 76,145 votes to emerge the winner, followed by his closest rival, Senator Ben Ayade of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who polled a total number of 56,595 votes to come second.

Declaring the winner, the Returning Officer, Dr Emmanuel Emanghe said, “…having scored the highest number of votes, Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe of the PDP declared the winner and returned elected as the Senator of Cross River Northern Senatorial District”.

CONVERSEER reports that it was a battle of the titans as Jarigbe Agom, the seating Senator went head-to-head with the State Governor Ayade at the Saturday polls.

Accordingly, Senator Jarigbe Agom will represent his people at the Red Chambers of the National Assembly for the next 4 years.
