Agim who also reports for CONVERSEER said the driver of the truck declined comments but the conductor said a mechanical fault was responsible for the fire outbreak.
“I sought to speak with the driver, but he declined giving me an audience.
“I even prodded the conductor to get his side of the story, all he could say was the fire outbreak was as a result of a mechanical breakdown and a dig on the tank, causing a lick”, he said.
Agim added that: “There was no fire service team, road safety or any other emergency response team.
“Onlookers watched the truck burnt to cinders.”
The crashing of fuel tankers and other auto-crashes has become a regular thing along the Highway following the deplorable state of the road.
