Kwara fixes January 2023 for completion of N2.4bn Tanke flyover

The Kwara Government has presented letter of appointment to the Onijagbo of Ijagbo, Oba Buhari Adeniyi.

This is contained in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ilorin on Monday.

According to the statement, the letter comes few days after the state government approved the choice for the second class ruler to assume the position, following all laid-down procedures.

The state Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development, Mr Aliyu Sabi, while presenting the letter, commended the people of Ijagbo for the seamless selection of a new Oba.

Sabi said the occasion demonstrated the respect the present administration accorded the traditional institution in the state.

He congratulated the royal father on his ascension to the throne and wished him peaceful and progressive reign.

The commissioner urged the people of Ijagbo to support the new Oba to move the community forward, adding that the traditional chief cannot do it alone.

Responding, Oba Adeniyi assured the people of a selfless service that would strengthen peace and progress in the community.

Adeniyi appreciated government and the Ijagbo community for finding him worthy of the royal office.

Ijagbo is in Oyun Local Government Area of Kwara.

NAN recalls that the late Onijagbo, Oba Salaudeen Adeyeye, joined his ancestors on Dec. 5, 2022. (NAN)
