The Labour Party (LP) Governorship Candidate in Enugu State, Mr Chijioke Edeoga, has promised to rehabilitate roads in Enugu metropolis as part of his urban renewal programme, if elected.
Edeoga made the promise on Monday at Idaw River area of the capital city, while addressing residents of the area and Achara Layout during his one-on-one campaign.
He said that he would give priority attention to massive road rehabilitation because of what he had seen on ground.
According to him, LP government under my watch will ensure that no part of Enugu city will be a slum.
“As part of my urban renewal programme, I assure you that all the streets in Enugu would be cleaned up and rehabiiited.
“Be assured that no part of Enugu will be left out of this programme,” the LP governorship hopeful said.
He called on the residents to vote for him, saying that he was prepared to bring governance closer to them.
“We will run an all inclusive administration, where people will have their say.
“I have gone round about 98 per cent of all the wards in the state and that has exposed me to the problems facing our people.
“I am assuring you that, if voted into office, you will start seeing changes within the first year of our administration,” Edeoga said.
Responding, a resident, Mrs Lillian Anioke, commended Edeoga for his “humility and simplicity”.
Anioke said that all the link roads constructed by former Gov. Sullivan Chime were in deplorable condition.
She expressed the hope that the LP candidate would work his talk, when elected. (NAN)
