ACCRA (CONVERSEER) – A five-member investigative committee appointed by Ghanaian President John Mahama is set to begin hearings on Thursday, 15th May, into allegations of misconduct against the country’s Chief Justice.
The committee, chaired by Supreme Court Justice Gabriel Scott Pwamang, was constituted under Article 146(6) of Ghana’s 1992 Constitution following the establishment of a prima facie case against Chief Justice Gertrude Araba Esaaba Sackey Torkornoo.
The decision came after formal consultation with the Council of State.
