A 25-year-old mother has been arrested by Kano State police in connection with the suspected kidnapping of her 6-year-old daughter in Madobi Local Government.
The Kano State Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel, made this known on Thursday (May 12) while parading 16 alleged armed robbers, kidnappers, and drug traffickers throughout Kano City and other neighbouring LGAs of the State.
According to Daily Post, CP Gumel stated that the incident took place on May 8, 2023, when Kabiru Shehu of Sharada Quarters, Kano Municipal Local Government, reported that his 25-year-divorced wife, Rahma Sulaiman, had called and told him that their 6-year-old daughter had been abducted.
She claimed that unidentified callers contacted her on her mobile phone and demanded three million naira (N3,000,000) in exchange for their daughter’s release.
The police acted quickly to save the victim and apprehend the culprits after receiving the report, according to the commissioner.
