Nigerians Mourn As Veteran Nollywood Actor, Saint Obi Passes On

One of Nollywood’s finest actors, Saint Obi is gone, CONVERSEER learned.

According to PUNCH, Obi died from a protracted illness earlier in the week.

The report added that the actor has been battling an undisclosed illness for several months with no successful treatment.

Our Reporter further gathered that Saint Obi who hailed from Mbaitolu in Imo State, died at JUTH. He is a University of Jos graduate. He graduated from the Department of Theatre Arts.

Saint Obi whose full name is Obinna Nwafor died at the age of 57.

Saint Obi is known for his roles in State of Emergency, Candle Light, Sakobi, Goodbye Tomorrow, Heart of Gold, Festival of Fire, Executive Crime, Last Party and several other movies.

Although, the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) which Obi is a member is yet to make an official statement about the dead, however, Nigerians have taken to social media to mourn the veteran actor.
