Rumours have been circulating about the death of veteran Nollywood actor, Sir Olu Jacobs, on social media.
But, Media Personality and Mental Health and Wellness Advocate, Betty Irabor, has debunked the news, saying Olu Jacobs is alive.
Popular Nigerian blog, Gistreel, had earlier reported that Olu Jacobs passed away after battling a protracted illness.
The report claimed that movie producer, Stanley Ontop, broke the tragic news on his official Instagram page.
The report by Gistreel quoted Ontop as captioning his Instagram post with a photo of Jacobs thus: “Veteran Actor Sir Olu Jacob passes On after long battling illness. Rest with the lord sir. Be with the lord. Shalom.”
However, checks by Converseer show that there is no such post on Stanley Ontop’s Instagram page at the time of filing this report.
Stanley Ontop, however, posted a video of Olu Jacobs on his Instagram, saying the veteran actor is alive.
“Sir Olu Jecob is still alive disregard any false information that he’s dead____ Family Members. Thankiu Jesus. Shalom,” Stanley Ontop’s Instagram post on Sunday, 30th June 2024 at about 4:48 pm read.
