Arungwa Nwazue, the new Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police for Zone 5, has assumed office at the Zonal Headquarters in Benin.
This is contained in a statement issued on Thursday by DSP Tijani Momoh, the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), in Abuja.
Momoh said that Nwazue solicited for the cooperation of people of the zone in providing useful and timely information to the police, to checkmate criminal elements.
The new Zonal AIG was Commissioner of Police in charge of Administration at the Force Intelligence Bureau, before his promotion and deployment to Benin.
Nwazue who will coordinate police activities in Delta and Edo, formally assumed duty on Thursday.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Ekiti State University and Higher National Diploma in Information Technology from University of Mumbai, India.
He also holds a Diploma in Law from Pan African Institute of Paralegal Studies, Abuja.
Nwazue who enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force on March 1, 1990 as Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police, has held several operational and command appointments. (NAN)
