Obo Charges Newly Licenced Presbyterian Ministers to Preach Gospel of Grace

Obubra, Cross River – The Special Adviser to Governor Bassey Otu on Youths Mobilisation, His Youthfulness Dan Obo Jnr, has charged the newly licenced Presbyterian Ministers, Pst. (Mrs) Veronica Isek Eyaba and Pst. Anani Egbehe Bassey to preach the Gospel of Grace as they embark on their missionary journey.

Obo Jnr stated this on Sunday during the Licencing Service held by the John Calvin Presbyterian Church, Obubra Urban Parish, Obubra Local Government Area of Cross River State.

He said the purpose of Jesus Christ coming to the world was to preach love and forgiveness, which is the bedrock of Christianity.

“In Ephesians 2:8,9, Christ talked about grace, an undeserved favour which is readily available for all who receive. Today, we have different kinds of ministers of the Gospel, and some are actually deviating from this Gospel truth. So, I am charging the newly licenced ministers of God to follow Christ’s teaching and preach the Gospel of Grace,” Obo Jnr said.

The vows of Licensing were administered by Rt. Rev. Igwe Daniel Ogbonnaya, Moderator of Obubra Presbytery, who licenced Pastors Eyaba and Bassey as preachers of the gospel and probationers for the holy ministry.

Pastor Bassey holds a Bachelor of Arts and Divinity from the Hugh Goldie Lay/Theological Institution, Abia State, and was the Bible Study Teacher at Ediba Parish and Assistant Pypan Bible Study Teacher.

Pastor (Mrs) Eyaba holds a PGD in Theology from Essien Ukpabio Presbyterian Theological College, Itu, Akwa Ibom State. She joined The Presbyterian faith by marriage in 1991, was baptised and confirmed, and has been a long-standing Elder of Obubra Urban Parish.
