Hon. Obinna Chris Emenaka, Member representing Anambra East State Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
CONVERSEER reported that Emenaka, a three-time legislator and Chairman of House Committee on Finance/Appropriation, won the seat thrice under APGA but left the party in anger after the party denied him a House of Representatives ticket for Anambra East/West Federal Constituency in the just concluded 2023 general election to pursue his political ambition.
The Lawmaker’s defection notice was made known by the State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Uche Okafor, during a plenary session in Awka, on Tuesday, May 16, 2023.
Speaking to Journalists, Hon. Emenaka said he return to APGA to support Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s ongoing transformation policies in the state.

While thanking the Speaker and other APGA Lawmakers for their warm reception, he said, “I went on a journey and I am back home to support Soludo’s agenda for a livable and prosperous Anambra State”.
The Speaker of the House, Hon Okafor, while receiving back the former PDP Lawmaker, thanked other members of the House for their understanding irrespective of political differences.
