A chieftain of the ruling All Progressive Party, APC, Chief Okoi Obono-Obla has alleged that the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi ordered the arrest of Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State in 2013.
Obono-Obla, who was the former Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Prosecution made this allegation on Tuesday, October 18, 2022.
He said he was a member of the APC Governorship Campaign Council for the 2013 governorship elections in Anambra State and the party faced harassment in Anambra and other parts of Nigeria.
Obono-Obla who was one of the founding fathers of the APC said: “Yes, Peter Obi ordered the arrest of Governor El-Rufai in 2013 and restrained his liberty for 24 hours!!

“I was a member of the APC Anambra Governorship Campaign Council for the 2013 governorship elections in Anambra State. El Rufai was then the Deputy National Secretary of APC and also a member of the Campaign Council. Peter Obi was the Governor of Anambra State then”.
The Cross River Central APC Senatorial aspirant for the 2023 general election added, “It was heretical to belong to APC in some parts of the Country in 2013!! We were intimidated, harassed and molested in Anambra State. Senator Chris Ngige was the APC governorship candidate!!”.
