Mr Bartholomew Onyeka, the Police Commissioner in Plateau, has warned newly commissioned constables to operate within the profesional ethics of the force in the discharge of their duty.
The commissioner gave the warning while addressing new constables posted to the command on Monday in Jos.
He warned that any constable found bringing the good name of force to dispute would be dealt with in accordance with the law.
“One of the practice of the force is that upon recruitment and passing out, you will be posted to the rural areas to compliments the efforts of the Divisional Police Officers and the Area Commanders.
”But let me warn that you must be of good conduct and carry out your duties in accordance with the ethics of this noble profession.
”Any of you caught misbehaving on duty or out of duty will be punished according to the rules of engagement.”
Onyeka also advised the personnel to cultivate cordial relationship with members of the communities they would be posted to, so as to discharge their functions with ease.
Joshua Pam, one of the constables, promised that they would be good and professional in the discharge of their functions.(NAN)
