The kidnapping of Architect Anozeng Egbe of Faith Global Int’l Services Ltd at Summit Hills Calabar has been confirmed by the Cross River State Command of the Nigerian Police.
CONVERSEER gathered that Egbe was kidnapped at about 9:20 am on Friday, November 18, 2022, when he went to brief the CEO of Faith Plant, Micheal Asuquo at his residence located inside Summit Hills Estate in Calabar Municipality Local Government Area of the State.
According to a reliable source, the kidnappers came in a Honda SUV to kidnap the CEO of Faith plant, Micheal Asuquo but ended up with the Architect.
“When they got to the gate of the house of my boss, the security man asked them who they were and if they had any appointment with his employer, they said yes, and that one of his trucks was intercepted by them and they wanted to discuss modalities before they will release of the said truck.
“The security man said they were putting on black, with camouflage face caps and were also carrying automatic weapons which they did not also hide because they probably wanted to create an impression that they were real military personnel.
“As the security man asked them to wait for him to confirm their appointment with his employer, unknown to him as he went in the Architect of the company who also came for routine morning briefings with the CEO was driving out from the compound, as the gunmen intercepted him.
“They took him (Architect) in his car while some of the kidnappers drove in the Honda SUV they came with to an unknown destination.
“We also observed that the gunmen has been carrying out surveillance in the area since 4:00 am before carrying out the attack,” the source narrated.

Confirming the news, SP Irene Ugbo, Police Spokesperson in Cross River State said the incident happened at Summit Hill Estate off Mohammed Murtala Highway.
She said: “We are aware of the incident at Summit Hills today, we are working on it already as I speak”.
CONVERSEER further learned that this is the third kidnapping incident in Calabar within the last two weeks. The first was a Pharmacist who was kidnapped at Bogobiri, while the second is a Lady that was kidnapped at Akai Street lane off Parliamentary Road, all in Calabar Municipality.
Recall also that the Police had on Tuesday rescued 8 out of the 9 persons kidnapped at Uyanga in Akamkpa local government area along Calabar-Ikom-Ogoja Highway.
Reports reaching CONVERSEER newsroom today, November 18, had it that the gunmen are back on that portion of the road and firing gunshots at commuters.
