Calabar, Nigeria – The prophecy of Prophet Ken Ewa about a state of emergency being declared in Rivers State has come to pass.
Converseer reports that Prophet Ewa, who is the Founder and General Overseer (GO) of Bethel City International Church located at 8 Miles in Calabar, Cross River State, made the declaration on the Cross Over Night of 2024 (31st December), during his prophetic declarations.
Fast forward to today, almost 3 months after, a state of emergency has been declared in Rivers State, following the political turmoil between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.
In a National State Broadcast on Tuesday, 18th March 2025, President Bola Tinubu declared a state of emergency in Rivers State with immediate effects, suspending Governor Fubara, his Deputy, Professor Ngozi Odu, and all members of the State House of Assembly for an initial period of six months.
In his declaration, Tinubu stated, “The grave situation in the state could not be allowed to continue and required extraordinary measures to restore good governance, peace, order, and security.”
The President also appointed
the former Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok Ibas (Rtd), to serve as the sole administrator of the state during this period.

Going back to 2024, Prophet Ewa warned Governor Fubara to make amends with Wike, adding that he saw the FCT Minister being stronger than the Governor.
“The Governor [Fubara] of Rivers should reconcile with his boss [Wike] because in the realm of the spirit, I saw his boss’s strength stronger than him. Let him be careful with whom is advising him, for the people are advising him for his doom.
“Let him seek the Lord so that he will be able to finish this first term
because another trouble will come again – let him be careful who is advising him (sic)…because I saw his boss’s hand stronger than him,” Ewa said.
Speaking further, the Prophet said, “I’m not a member of any political party, I’m not a Rivers person but as I hear the Lord, so I speak. Let him reconcile; if not, he may not finish his first term.
“Something somehow will happen but if he reconcile and take it easy
and be careful with his advisors – the people that want to destroy him are around him advising him – let him be careful and let him seek the Lord. If he meets me, I can tell him other things God
showed me.”
Prophet Ewa, popularly known as The Chief of Staff 1, said Fubara was destined to be the Governor of Rivers. “Becoming a Governor was part of his destiny; that was why it got to his turn, but let him take it easy, reconcile, and be careful of who is advising him.
“God told me that some of them will only push him to the front of a fight
and they will leave him when he needs them; if not, there will be…I saw something like a state of emergency declared on that state, but if he reconciles with his boss and follows God’s ways of counsel…behaving like a fool does not make you a fool…I am prophesying here he can behave like a fool but it’s not that he’s a fool – he’s not a fool, and he will never be a fool because I’ve not seen him being a fool but there are times you can play foolishness for the sake of some certain things,” Ewa stated.

Recall that while leaving office after serving for 8 years, Wike brought in Fubara, his friend, as his replacement, and the odds worked in his favour as the now embattled Governor was sworn in on 29th May 2023.
