Rovers Football Club Gets New Management Board

The Governor of Cross River State, Senator (Prince) Bassey Otu, has approved a new Management Board for the Rovers Football Club of Calabar to ensure their seamless participation and successful performance in the Nigerian National League (NNL).

A release signed by the Commissioner for Sports Development, Hon. Agnes Atsu, on Wednesday, 28th August 2024, named members of the newly constituted Management Board of the Rovers as follows:

1. Mr Etim Okon – Chairman

2. Mr Etta Egbe – Vice Chairman

3. Mr Jimmy Bisong Okotu – Secretary

4. Mr Edem Eso Oyom – Team Manager

5. Mrs Thelma Ekpor – Welfare Officer I

6. Mr Eke Ekanem – Welfare Officer II

7. Mr Edem Ephraim – Scouting Manager

8. Mr Apah Mike – Member

9. Mr Abang Richard Ikung – Member

10. Mr Success Ani – Member

11. Mr Vincent Ugorjah – Member

12. Mr Bassey Effiom Ekpe – Member

13. Barr Emmanuel Cobham – Legal Adviser




“The appointment takes immediate effect, please,” the statement added.

CONVERSEER reports that the State is hosting the 2023/2024 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Championship.

The tournament which will take place in Calabar from 31st August 2024 – 8th September 2024, will be hosted at two venues – the U. J. Esuene Stadium and St. Patrick’s Catholic Church field, Ikot Ansa, Calabar.
