A few days ago, a video emerged on the internet (social media) capturing Seun Kuti, the youngest son of legendary Nigerian singer, Fela Kuti, slapping and harassing a Police officer.
The viral video has been condemned by many Nigerians, though, some see no bad thing about it – as it is to every other occasion in the country.
Seun is being arraigned by the Nigeria Police for his actions and currently standing trial.
On Sunday, a social change agent, Charles Awuzie while condemning the act by Seun Kuti described him as a mad son from a made marriage.
Awuzie who is a supporter of Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi as against Kuti who is a supporter of APC’s Bola Tinubu, also blamed the Nigeria Police for giving credence to certain classes of people which has in turn meted with abuse and harassment of its officers.

His words: “Not even the King of Britain can slap a British police officer in Uniform.
“Slapping an officer in Uniform is equal to stabbing every Nigerian in the face and daring them to do their worst.
“Yet we can’t put all the blame on Seun Kuti…
“The Nigerian Police has been degraded to domestic workers for rich people. They are seen in pictures opening car doors for questionable characters, serving girlfriends of their bosses and running domestic errands while wearing uniforms. It’s a big national shame.
“I have said this a few times – IT IS NOT THE JOB OF THE POLICE TO PROVIDE VIP PROTECTION.
“Withdraw Police VIP bodyguards and you will boost the private security industry and resultantly improve the economy. Jobs will be created for thousands of unemployed able-bodied Nigerians and the private security sector will become competitively innovative. The police will have more personnel to fight crime and solve cases.
“The police should only protect state witnesses, Ministers and top members of parliament.
“Until this is done, do not expect egocentric self-inflated citizens like Seun Kuti to respect our officers in uniform. To Seun, that officer is just like his houseboy but with a gun.
“Just one last question to #SeunKuti, WHO ARE YOU? In 1978 when your father wedded 27 wives on the same day of which your mother was one of them, Nigerians thought they had seen the height of madness but fast forward to 2023, what you demonstrated in that video is best described as a mad son from a mad marriage.
“My name is Charles Awuzie and now I know why you never wanted Peter Obi to win because he would pluck your wet wings”, Awuzie posted on Facebook.
