The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Stanley Nsemo has emerged winner of the Calabar Municipality State Constituency seat in the Cross River State House of Assembly.
According to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC on Sunday, Nsemo polled a total of 17,130 votes to emerge as the winner of the Saturday, March 18, 2023 State House of Assembly election.
Nsemo dethroned the incumbent, two-term member, Rt. Hon. Efa Esua of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 11,857 votes.
Also, Edim Okon of the Labour Party (LP) scored 4,743 votes to come third and Agbor Etta-Agbor of the Young People’s Party (YPP) came third with 310 votes.
“…that Nsemo Okon Bassey Stanley of APC, having satisfied the requirement of the law is hereby declared the winner and he is returned elected”, the INEC Returning Officer said.

Before his election, Stanley Nsemo served as the former Director-General of the Cross River Signage And Advertisement Agency (CRISAA) and State Electrification Agency (SEA) under Governor Ben Ayade’s administration.
