We must resist the temptation of mortgaging our future on the altar of parochial sentiments and focus on building foundations for a better future.
As of today, it is visible to even the blind that of all the candidates gunning for the SENATE seat in the Southern Senatorial District of Cross River State, it is only Asuquo Ekpenyong that is not going there as a retirement package.
Dear people of the Southern Senatorial District, we have listened to conversations, and have joined arguments and even made some critical permutations. Those who are conversant with our politics can simply tell a man’s interest from his antecedents and the cartel such a man belongs.
It is important that the Southern Senatorial District must as a matter of fact get it right this time by electing a seasoned, well-grounded and thorough individual to represent them in the Red Chambers of the National Assembly.
We have gone beyond party lines to make case for Asuquo Ekpenyong Jnr who has the finesse, charisma and sagacity to deliver not just his primary responsibility of oversight functions, if elected but also has the large heart to accommodate the pressure of our growing population of young people who now desperately need a shoulder to lean on.

Asuquo as a smart and young gentleman, understands that he has a long political journey ahead of him and will do exceedingly, abundantly above expectations and his activities in the field solidify this point.
Today, he is rounded by two oldies who have been around the circle since 1999, over 24 years.
These guys know for real that indeed their time has come to an end but unfortunately, they have not been prepared for this day.
Their motive is simple, take the Senate seat and use it as a retirement package to settle for all their troubles.
They will offer no significant representation, as we have tested them in time past and of course, we’ve come to the realization that these materials are pure metal sheets with gold coating.
The Southern Senatorial District have been deprived of quality representation since the exit of Senator Bassey Otu and we should not mortgage an opportunity to restore our zone to once again become the pride of the state.
